I love to travel! I travelled as a child and went on a trip every 3 months with my children when they were young. So, when I retired, I became a Travel Advisor to travel for less and get paid for what I like to do.

About Me

I graduated from The University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Education, then earned a master's degree in Curriculum Development and Classroom Instruction from Michigan State University. I also hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Classroom Instruction from the phoenix">University of Phoenix. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, particularly cruising, spending time with my family, and helping others embrace their lives. In the Travel Industry, I work with a team of people, training them in their desired area of travel, ensuring that they know what to do to achieve success. In 2018 and 2024, I authored a book about overcoming grief, sharing my personal experiences after my mother's unexpected passing.

Experience

I spent 25 years as a classroom teacher, instructing grades K-5, before transitioning to administration as an assistant principal for three years and then serving as a principal in a PreK-8 school for five years. Recently, I've taken on tutoring two children, ages 4 and 6, in reading, language arts, and math. I'm proud to report that both students perform above grade level in these subjects. Additionally, I worked with Varsity Tutors during the 2024-2025 School year, working with 1st - 6th grade

Approach

My passion lies in meeting students where they are academically and helping them advance to the next level without being constrained by their current grades. I tailor my instruction to each learner. I strongly advocate for education, believing it is essential for enhancing quality of life, and I strive to instil this appreciation in my students.
