Fun Facts

I have worked with kids for nearly all of my paying jobs! I have worked in support roles, teaching roles, and currently work as a behaviour coach. I have a calico cat whom I love very dearly despite her daily spouts of craziness. I am also working on fostering or adopting a child in the near future.

About Me

I’m well-versed in children’s behaviours and how to deal with them as well as how to tutor and teach kids in a variety of ways. I have worked as a special needs aide, a teacher's assistant, and currently as a behaviour coach. I am working towards an Associate's in Social Work at a local community college. I hope to eventually get my Doctorate in Psychology, though that’s a long way away. I have lived in Arizona my whole life, though I feel like I still have so much to learn.

Experience

I tutored other kids while I was still in high school, and my job during my senior year of high school was working in after after-school care program with elementary school children. Then I worked as a special needs aide before transitioning to a teacher's assistant, where I worked with kids K-5 for both positions. I worked as a camp counsellor at the same school over the summer for incoming 1st and 2nd graders and ran a class of 25+ kids. Now I work as a behaviour coach, where I work with kids

Approach

I like to approach things in small, manageable increments and want to make sure the basics are understood before continuing. I struggled in school at times because of my way of learning, though over my years of working with children, I’ve found a plethora of ways to help someone learn even complicated things like astronomy or calculus. I enjoy explaining and teaching things to my friends as it helps my understanding, as well as knowing I can teach someone else what I am learning.
