Fun Facts

A few quick facts about me are that I am a member of the marching band at my school, playing the flute, and have been doing so for 12 years. I am a huge fan of reality TV shows and anime. Lastly, I enjoy going out for a walk or hike with my dog, Nova.

About Me

I am a senior student in elementary education at Morgan State University. I am currently in the process of interning at City Neighbours Elementary School, working with 4th and 5th-grade students in ELA and Math. At school, I am also a part of a band sorority, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority Inc. and have held multiple positions within that. As well as making the dean’s list every year during my matriculation.

Experience

As I near the end of my college journey, I have been working within the classroom since my sophomore year, from grades 1st through 5th. Whether it’s working one-on-one with a student (teaching the student with low test scores by creating a lesson plan specifically targeting the area), observing a teacher and how they manage a full classroom, or now taking on some of the teacher's responsibilities as her aide.

Approach

I want to be an elementary school tutor because I enjoy helping young students learn and grow, and I believe I can make a positive impact on their confidence and understanding. It’s rewarding to support their curiosity and success from the outset. It also gives me the confidence to become a better teacher through experiences like these.
