Fun Facts
One quick fact people often learn about me is that I'm an empath. I care deeply for all living beings; nature, animals, and, of course, people. I believe in treating others with kindness and respect, and expect the same in return. I also value accountability, both in how we treat ourselves and how we interact with others, because our actions impact not just us, but the world around us.
About Me
I grew up in upstate New York, where I got my Bachelor's degree in English, before recently moving to Connecticut in 2024. In Connecticut, I am currently pursuing my master's degree in elementary education and certification. I currently have a 4.0 at CCSU, and through a program called NextGen, I spend a minimum of eight hours a week in the Weathersfield School District, where I am expanding on my experience working with elementary students. My ultimate goal is to be a teacher!
Experience
I'm someone who has worked in a wide range of jobs; however, what I've enjoyed most is working with individuals and helping them achieve their goals. I have worked in a daycare setting, where I supported children in their early learning and development. I also have experience working one-on-one with young adults who struggle academically. These experiences taught me the importance of being patient and adapting lessons to meet individuals' needs.
Approach
When I was a young learner, I struggled greatly with focusing on my work. It wasn't until I became passionate about the material that I craved to learn. All students are capable of success; what's different is the approach that works for each student. Making content relatable, engaging, and worth learning is crucial to maintaining children's natural curiosity. By working one-on-one with students, I believe there is always a way to learn.
