Fun Facts
One passion people will quickly find out about me is that I love to go watch youth sports! Whether it is my son, nephews, cousins or friends' kids, I am there!! Cheering and encouraging them to do their best!
About Me
I have my Bachelor's Degree in elementary education and my Master's of Education in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages. I taught for 11 years, 9 years of kindergarten and 2 years of 2nd grade. Currently, I am a classroom aide assisting with first-grade classes. Over the past 20 years, I have tutored students ranging from pre-K through eighth grade in math, reading, writing and helped with studying and organisational skills. I love working with children and seeing them succeed. Tutoring is another way for me to help students be confident academically.
Experience
In addition to teaching for 11 years and currently working as an instructional aide, I tutored students ranging in age from 4 to 12 over the past 20 years. I have created fun, interactive activities to accompany the lessons to help students make connections and grasp the information so they can apply it.
Approach
My approach to teaching is hands-on on minds-on. I believe and have experienced in my years of teaching and parenting that a child learns best when they are active in the learning. I use a combination of kinesthetic learning activities, music, manipulatives and technology based on each student's learning style.
