I love camping and hiking. After I adopted my two dogs, I wanted a hobby that we could all do together, so now we go camping and hiking every chance we get.

About Me

I am a graduate of Southwestern University with a degree in chemistry, certified by the American Chemical Society. I now work in chemistry research by quantifying antioxidants in chocolate.

Experience

As a chemistry graduate, I have had the unique experience of having done research in all fundamental areas of chemistry: organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry. Each research experience has required a fundamental understanding of the basics, which I helped others understand through supplemental instruction, in which I held large sessions for students to help them understand their lecture content.

Approach

Chemistry is about pattern recognition and piecing together a puzzle. I like to help students work through a larger problem by helping them break it down into smaller steps. These smaller steps are less daunting and easier to solve. This helps the student understand how to identify the type of problem they are solving and how to piece together different orders of steps to solve various problems.
