Fun Facts
With my background in landscape architecture and design, I've been exploring ways to design and construct pre-cast landscape rocks for use in residential and commercial gardens. It allows me to combine my artistic talents with the principles of construction and materials.
About Me
I am a retired GIS professional, having worked in the industry for 30 years. Although retired, I still have a keen interest in GIS technology (current and future trends and tools). I attended the University of Wyoming, earning a botany degree (1979), and the Master's of Landscape Architecture program at California State Polytechnic University (1989). I was a mentor in the Big Brothers program for ten years, and more recently, I have been a mentor in the University of Colorado Leadership Program.
Experience
I have worked in the government and private sectors as a GIS professional performing analysis, software development, and training tasks. My career has taken me to many places across the globe, including Canada, Africa, Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand.
Approach
Initially, learning the fundamentals of your particular technology is the key to future success. Once the fundamentals are solid, then learn (through teaching/tutoring) to apply those fundamental tools to real-world tasks.
