About Me
I graduated magna cum laude from Rice University with a BA in English and Visual Arts. I have always had a passion for teaching students how to express themselves with confidence and clarity through writing.
Experience
For two years, I volunteered with Momentum Education as an essay editor and English tutor for underprivileged high school students in Houston, Texas. My experiences included editing services for college application essays as well as one-on-one tutoring for students in English classes, including AP Literature. During my time there, I loved helping students craft personal statements that truly represented their interests and made them stand out.
Approach
I have always believed that good writing is a reflection of good thinking. In my tutoring and editing approach, I go beyond basic proofreading and ask young writers questions to encourage them to critically think over what it is they want to express and why. Teaching students how to write effectively provides them with a solid foundation for clear, persuasive communication that they can apply in all majors and careers.

In high school, I took both AP Literature and AP Language & Composition; for both exams, I received a 5. My BA in English from Rice University further allowed me to hone my writing skills and passion for literature. As a tutor, I love working with high school students to improve their AP essays and other writing pieces.

I then spent four years as an undergraduate student at Rice University pursuing my BA in English, which allowed me to hone my writing and reading comprehension skills. I look forward to sharing my insights with students and helping them aim higher!
