Hello, my name is Perry and I am passionate about animals, SCUBA diving and traveling! I have many stories to tell about my pets and my experiences with animals I had the chance to meet and interact with in my SCUBA diving and travel experiences. Although I am not good at it, I love singing and have a secret aspiration to one day act in a Broadway play.
About Me
I am an experienced educator with a background in publishing and teaching English as a second or foreign language. I have worked in the field of education for a total of eight years in America and Korea. I also have a backgroun in legal and textbook editing. I have tutored Korean students and business men in English as a foreign language. My professional experience has helped me develop strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence in my field.
Experience
I have completed a Master's in Education at Hunter college and worked as a teacher for the past eight years in America and Korea. I hold a valid Arizona licence to teach grades 1-8 and a Structured English Immersion Endorsement from the state of Arizona.
Approach
I believe in student centered, discovery based learning. To this aim, I first assess each individual student's strengths and challenges, learning style, interests and needs. After I have assessed the student, I develop an invidualized learning plan based on the information I have collected. As I work with each student, I am constantly assessing and adjusting my approach when I feel it is needed. My main goal is to help my students become successful in their classes.
