Fun Facts
Both of my parents are deaf, and I grew up speaking ASL at home.
I have a wonderfully round cat named Oskar who looks like a creamsicle-striped teddy bear.
I enjoy experimenting with cooking, which at the end of the day is just STEM applied to the kitchen.
I love the arts and comedy, and I bring that same creative energy and light humor into my tutoring sessions without pulling students off track.
About Me
I graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Biological Sciences and have worked in biotech laboratories, assisted with COVID testing, and worked in student support roles.
Whether it was teaching safety procedures in the lab or guiding stressed-out skeptics on how to give a saliva sample without contaminating the whole room, I’ve found that my personal touch is the hidden advantage to making STEM less intimidating, more relatable, and easier to learn.
Experience
I've worked in STEM-focused roles requiring clear communication and step by step guidance. At Agilent Technologies, I trained scientists in laboratory methods and represented the company at STEM outreach events for young students. Previous to that I had worked at UC Davis, leading hundreds of people through COVID testing procedures and helping them stay calm in order to follow safety guidelines. I also have tutored college level chemistry and supported research projects at Sacramento State.
Approach
Breaking schoolwork down to create relatable examples and inspiring a self‑driven interest to enjoy learning science. My goal is to get students understanding the “why” and “how” of the material and not just memorizing steps.
