Fun Facts

I really love animals - I have my own side business of painting people's pets, succeeded in college by imagining I was a tiger when I had test anxiety, and started my own program to teach kids about animal behaviors! I also love to swim, and yes, I imagine myself as a dolphin whilst I do it.

About Me

My ultimate goal is to be a wildlife veterinarian as well as a college professor - I am extremely passionate about teaching, and go to my old professors for advice on how to be a better teacher. Just as I explore different paths, I encourage my students to do the same, to get out of their comfortable box and dive into the unknown!

Experience

I have been denver">tutoring for 6+ years, in Pre- Algebra through Algebra II, Geometry, and high school biology (including AP/Honors). I am excited to denver">tutor in other subjects I am passionate about and received A's in, including Pre-Calculus, Calculus II & II, and college level Biology I & II. With my 10+ years of working with children ages 3 - 14 in homework helping and art activities, I am available to help with Elementary & Middle School language arts, social studies, as well as math and science.

Approach

My approach is to understand my student's specific issue, and address them as an individual. I guide them through problems, not showing them, and help develop specific strategies so that when they facing a difficult problem alone, they have the confidence to work through it. Most importantly, I make sure my students laugh at least once during a session - when they are having fun, seeing the big picture, and exploring the subject at their own pace, the learning falls more naturally into place.
