I am am passionate about learning and imparting my knowledge to other students. I enjoy reading, writing and poetry.

About Me

I am a senior English Language Art student at Hunter College. I push myself to do better everyday. When I graduate I am planning to attend graduate school at NYU. My goal is to become a education/new-york/manhattan">Special Education Specialist for students in low income areas who do not have a voice.

Experience

As a student at Hunter College, I am the head of a group called Team up to Win. I help struggling students find other students to buddy up and study. I have a 95% success rate. Student come to me for help in all subjects. I cannot help them in all the subject, but i will find another student who can help. I have also worked for a family for 16yrs. I responsible to provide homework assistant for age 3yrs- 17yrs.

Approach

Growing up in the Caribbean, education was not important to my family. I am the first of 12 siblings. My dad was a farmer and we sent most of our lives on the farm, not in school. I migrated to United States in 1991 and then realize the value of education. I have a passion for learning. I am the first of my siblings to go to college and I am proud of my accomplishments. As a manhattan">tutor, I believe that i can help the students to think critically and analyze the reading to find the answers.
