Fun Facts
Music is a big part of my life and is very close to my heart. I am currently in jazz band at my University and I am also a part of the South Philadelphia String Band! South Philly String Band is part of the String Band Division in the Mummers. The mummers are on channel 17 every New Years Day for one of Philadelphia's longest traditions that is over 100 years old now! You can see us around at different community parades for holidays such as St. Patty's Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July.
About Me
I am a second year Biology student at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Science is a passion of mine and I just received the honor to be on Dean's List this past Fall semester! I am very interested in Microbiology and I am soon adding it as a minor. I plan on applying to Dental School next year and my goal is to be an Oral Surgeon.
Experience
As a USciences Ambassador, I am very experienced in socializing and understanding peer needs. I was also a part of the National Honor Society in high school which included philadelphia">tutoring students weekly. Both these activities allow me to conform to specific student needs. Although I have not tutored in college, I do form study groups with friends before exams and rigorously teach and go over the material. These past experiences have given me the skills to effectively teach students.
Approach
Entering college, I did not know how to efficiently study. After a few exams, I quickly realized that I had to change my study habits to receive better grades. Through forming study groups and writing notes down over and over, I found better ways to study. However, each class is different and requires different study methods. I am comfortable with being able to teach different study habits and skills that need to be formed to new students who can also manipulate these skills to their own needs.
