About Me

I am a senior, English major, Strategic legal management minor with the concentration of pubic relations. I am from Boston Massachusetts attending the great HBCU of Howard University. I transferred in 2013 from a community college. I hope to continue a masters program in English literature and creative writing and apply to law school. My career goal is to incorporate my passion for writing, social issues and protecting a prominent image all in one.

Experience

As a member of Howard University's Alternative Spring Break (ASB) organization, I have spent my spring breaks somerville">tutoring and mentoring elementary and high school students. ASB gave me the opportunity to travel areas with poor school districts that don't have many resources to improve the academics. During my time with ASB, I was a team leader. Not only did I somerville">tutor and mentor the youth, i took the responsibility of creating a curriculum and managing other somerville">tutors and mentors.

Approach

I was diagnosed with a learning disability at the age of eight. I spent years of my life receiving a special education and working hard to keep up with my classmates. As a somerville">tutor with Frog somerville">Tutoring, I can connect with students and their difficulty on a subject. My journey in my academic career was not easy and I feel it is my responsibility to communicate that to whoever I somerville">tutor; its a journey. I want to continue to help those who face the same issues as I did as a child.
