Fun Facts
Hi, I own a pet Shih Tzu dog who I hang out with in my free time. I also enjoy playing strategic board games such as Go, the ancient Chinese board game. I have three sisters and we all get along well.
About Me
I'm a first year college undergraduate who is currently pursuing a science/new-york/new-york">computer science major. I plan to help advance the field of artificial intelligence for the future I envision. I also plan to be a video game programmer either as job or as a hobby.
Experience
I'm was a member of the Stuyvesant Go club for four years. In the latter years I teach Go to incoming members who wants to experience the strategical depth of this board go. I work at various small jobs in the summer such as being a teacher assistant in a prep school and a Pizza Hut cashier. I realize that instead of working at random places I really enjoy teaching what I've learned to other people.
Approach
There are many flaws in public education. Many of the teachers that taught me simply wrote stuff on the board and expect you to memorize things. I feel its important to someone that guides you to really understand the underlying concepts of the subject at hand. Letting the child discover concept by giving hints is far more exciting for the child then simply being told what is right. I feel what's most important in teaching children is teaching the joy of learning, so they'll never stop learning.
