Fun Facts
I got my motorcycle license in Alabama when I was 14, and have been riding ever since! I even worked for a motorcycle safety training center for a couple of years in high school. So far, I have never met another girl my age who rides her own motorcycle, but with gas prices bound to be on the rise again soon I'm sure that will change!
About Me
I am an Honor's student at the University of New Orleans, as well as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honors Society. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in International Studies, as well as teaching myself Russian in my spare time. I hope to one day work as a diplomat in Eastern Europe for the U.S. State Department!
Experience
During my senior year in high school I was the battalion commander for my school's JROTC unit. I started the unit's first Academic Team, which allowed me to teach ambitious cadets a weekly class consisting of elements of standardized test preparation and cultural literacy. I also began a tutoring program after school for cadets struggling with their core subjects. I have always loved learning myself, and relish the opportunity to make it an interesting and painless experience for others!
Approach
I have been very fortunate in my life to have had many wonderful mentors, who have instilled in me a love and a passion for education. I study for fun. For me, the joys of education reach far beyond mere scholastic success. I believe that with personalized, charismatic, and compassionate mentorship, any child can be inspired to love learning for learning's sake, and to achieve academic success even in subjects in which they may lack motivation.
