Fun Facts

I'm an athlete - lacrosse, field hockey, sailing, running - I'm a participant and a fan. At Tufts, I sailed on the Varsity Sailing Team for four years, eventually becoming captain in my senior year.

Curiosity characterized my academic career. I have an addiction to questions, which led me to pursue a wide variety of academic classes at Tufts, from Italian to French, Calculus to Art History, finally resulting in an honors thesis project in Political Science about my family from the Belgian Congo. My unofficial education continues at my current position as Director of the Howard Yezerski Gallery, a leading contemporary art gallery in the South End.

About Me

I was inspired by my wonderful experience with my SAT boston">tutor in high school. She helped me see the test as a game that could be played and won. Now I'm looking to give back that spark to the next generation.

I'm a recent Tufts graduate with years of experience working with athletes and students. As a freshman and a sophomore at Tufts I loved volunteering for Let's Get Ready, a non-profit offering free SAT boston">tutoring in low-income areas. In that program I led classes of 12 - 15 students to prep for the SAT Verbal Exam, tailoring a curriculum to their needs and spending extra hours working one-on-one with students having trouble with concepts. One of my students won an award with the program for a record 280 point jump over the semester!

I believe that the SAT is a test that can be learned. There are 9 different types of questions, each of which can be tackled systematically with shortcuts and strategies to keep you on target. Those tactics can then be supplemented by reinforcing grammar, vocabulary and algebra skills that you learned in school, but may have forgotten. If you see the test as a challenge that can be trained for, just like I've always taught my athletes, than you'll be ready to take on the SAT.
