Fun Facts
One of my deepest passions is rock climbing. Any chance I get I try to go with as many friends as I can gather. I am the oldest of my siblings and the only one to go to a foreign country. I spent two years in Chile where I learned spanish. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, especially hunting.
About Me
I am a sophomore at NC State University majoring in chemical engineering. Math and chemistry have always been my favorite subjects. After I graduate I want to enter into a career with this degree helping company where I know i'll be appreciated for the work that I do.
During High School I volunteered to raleigh">tutor after school. There I learned the best ways to help others learn the best they can.
I believe the best way to learn is through practice. With more repetition, the easier it is to remember.
Experience
During high school I was part of the National Honor Society. This experience allowed me the opportunity to give service to the community and part of that I spent raleigh">tutoring students after school. There I learned how to explain concepts to students so that they could understand the material and not just get a good grade on homework.
Approach
During my learning experience I have found that using examples to compare things helps me to remember certain topics. As a raleigh">tutor I try to use them to clear up any questions. My goal is teach jn such a way so that the student understands the subject well enough to explain it back to me.

Chemical Engineering
Calculus I Tutoring
Math has always been a really easy subject for me as I always recieved straight A's in my math classes. I have taken up to calculus 3 so far and am confident in my abilities to teach calculus 1.
Chemistry I Tutoring
As a chemical engineer I have spent every semester so far in a chemistry class. I am more proficient in chemistry when it involves calculations which is what chemistry 2 is about. When I took this class I got an A for the semester and continue to use some of the material I learned.
Spanish II Tutoring
From 2012 to 2014 I was in Chile speaking with the people there in their language. I also am working towards a Spanish minor in college and took 5 claases of spanish in high school. In every spanish class that I have taken I haven't earned a grade lower than an A.

As an engineer so far I have spent a lot of time using algebra to make equations easier to solve. Algebra is a math used everyday and is something that I excel at.
