Fun Facts

My biggest passion in life is writing. I've been making up stories since I was a child, and I've been writing them down since I was 12. I'm also a huge bookworm. I love everything about story-telling. I have one younger sister, and I've only been out of Connecticut a handful of times - mostly to visit New York. I also love museums and concerts.

About Me

I am technically a senior college student, though I have three more semesters to complete. I changed my major at the half-way point because I wasn't studying what I loved. Since changing to an English major, I've had a high GPA, even making it on the Dean's List. I hope to find a job in college administration once I complete my Bachelor's Degree, and I will continue my writing.

Experience

I volunteered to connecticut/connecticut/waterbury">waterbury">tutor younger students for connecticut/new-haven">New Haven Reads for several months. This involved reading-comprehension/connecticut/waterbury">reading comprehension and writing. I enjoyed helping students, though I feel I am more suited to help older students with English needs. Frog connecticut/connecticut/waterbury">waterbury">Tutoring gives me the opportunity to gain more experience and help more students.

Approach

As a student, I often felt teachers weren't encouraging enough to those who struggled with writing. It is very difficult to be told you're not writing well, and then receive no help to better yourself. As a connecticut/connecticut/waterbury">waterbury">tutor, I will always take it slow and explain myself thoroughly. I never want a student to feel I'm pushing him or her too hard. I'd rather they understand the material, and take joy from learning something new.
