About Me

I am currently a sophomore at Arizona State University studying Film and Non-Profit Leadership and Management. Upon graduating, I hope to start helping Non-Profit Organizations by making promotional videos for them and enhancing their message through the art of visual storytelling. Ultimately, I would love to work with younger generations and inspire them to invest in their community and make the world a better place to live.

As a part of being in the honors program at my high school, my teachers often gave me opportunities to informally phoenix">tutor my fellow classmates in English, math, Spanish, and science. Now that I a student at ASU, I have the opportunity to phoenix">tutor my peers in writing. It has been incredibly rewarding to be able to help students from not only completely different areas of study but also from all over the world.

Until I was in junior high, I really did not see myself as academically competent. One of my teachers saw my potential and suggested that I take the test to apply for the honors program; even the fact that she thought I was intelligent enough to potentially qualify for this greatly boosted my confidence. I ended up exceeding the standards and have been an honors student ever since. From this experience, I have learned to greatly value academic confidence and apply this to the way I approach phoenix">tutoring and mentoring. Often, a subject has become intimidating or frustrating for a student, which makes them perform poorly. Rather than merely teaching students, I like to ask them intuitive questions to help them see that they know more than they think they do in a subject with which they are struggling. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to help students regain their confidence in school and show them how to realize their own potential like my teacher did for me.
