Fun Facts
I love playing sports, specifically lacrosse and tennis. However, music is a big passion of mine as well. I love finding new bands, going to concerts, and playing the guitar. I am looking to get involved with some sort of music-related journalism in the future, whether that's in college or as my actual career.
About Me
I am a freshman Journalism major at Northwestern University. In addition to a journalism, magazine focused major, I plan to pursue a minor in Religious Studies and a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. At school I am an Assistant Features Editor and regular contributor for North By Northwestern, a large magazine at the school. I also am a member of the Northwestern Women's Club Lacrosse Team, and the Delta Gamma Women's Fraternity.
Experience
Growing up I volunteered as a chess coach at a local elementary school. I think this work gave me a lot of experience working with children of multiple ages on an academic task, and I developed skills at keeping them engaged and focused. I also worked as a tennis coach for three summers for elementary and middle schoolers, which also taught me to work patiently with kids. Frog chicago">Tutoring is an exciting opportunity for me because I've always enjoyed chicago">tutoring-like work.
Approach
I have always been academically motivated, but I still went through chicago">tutoring during high school, specifically for my AP math class and for the ACT my junior year. I fully believe that asking for help is one of the most important parts of learning, and sometimes having something explained from a new angle is the key to a smart individual's success. I feel that I would be a great resource for kids who are learning because I have gone through chicago">tutoring even though I still did well academically.

I was raised Roman Catholic and I am very familiar with the religion. I am also a Religious Studies minor at Northwestern University, and so I am learning a basis on many other religions, including ones that are less prominent in the area such as Buddhism.

ACT English Tutoring
I have always excelled at English, and am very familiar with grammar concepts especially now that I'm a journalism major at Northwestern. I received a 35 on the English section of my ACT multiple times, and would feel very comfortable teaching the material to others.
