Fun Facts
I am a complete and total Disney Dork! I am in love with everything Disney, including the Marvel Universe, Star Wars, and all things Pixar. I am also a huge Harry Potter fan (Hufflepuff), to the point where I go to Harry Potter World in Universal Orlando AT LEAST once, if not twice a year. I actually got chosen in a wand ceremony and everything, which is still one of my proudest accomplishments to this day!
About Me
I am a graduate of Howard University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In 2020, I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in Education, with a concentration in Elementary. I have a huge passion for teaching and there is nothing that makes me happier than imparting knowledge.
Experience
I am currently certified in the state of Texas to teach Early Childhood thru 6th Grade. I also have certifications in English as a Second Language (ESL) and education/texas/dallas">Special Education (K-12). In the past two years, I have lived in the realm of third grade where I have taught science, writing, reading, and math. I also have experience teaching in-person, hybrid, and virtually. Frog dallas">Tutoring allows me to reach even more kiddos and help them to succeed.
Approach
When I was little, my dad used to watch me get frustrated doing my homework. But the thing was that I wasn't frustrated about the answers I was getting. I was frustrated when I didn't know WHY an answer was correct. I feel that the best indicator that you've learned a concept is when you can teach it back to me in a way that you understand. That way you can apply the concept to more than just one problem type.
