Fun Facts
I am an avid reader and I often read at least a book a week, if not more. I have one brother who is 18 (almost 19) and a freshman at maryland/towson">towson-university">maryland/towson">Towson University currently. I lived in Japan for 4 years when I was age 8-12, so I have also travel around the world and I love history and travel. I am currently in a full time MAT program studying to become an elementary teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. I have two dogs at home, named Sam and Holly; they are a terrier/lhasa apso and a beagle.
About Me
I am in the final months of a full time MAT program at Johns Hopkins University. After I graduate in May, I hope to obtain a job with maryland/baltimore">Baltimore City Public Schools in a grade from 1st through 4th. I have been interning in maryland/baltimore">Baltimore City Public Schools since last June and I absolutely love it. I am passionate about kids and learning, and I believe that this is reflected in my attitude and demeanor.
Experience
My experience maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring has been since I was in high school. In high school I did peer maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring in my library after school and I also volunteered at a local elementary school working in a classroom. In addition to this experience, I have worked in classrooms during my undergraduate work doing observations and with my masters program during my internship. I love working with kids one-on-one and I have the patience to work with any personality. I have seen it all in schools!
Approach
As a child, I loved to learn and I was always one that did not have to be prodded to study. As such, I want to instill this in students that I maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor. All students can be made to enjoy learning; it just needs to be presented in a way that is relevant and interesting to them. As a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor, I intend to engage all of my students, just as I do in the classroom. I will work with a student tirelessly on a certain problem or concept until they are able to understand it without assistance.

I am always reading and I received a score of 680 on my reading comprehension portion of the SAT. Because I read so often, I have very good recall and I am good at teaching others strategies for how to best remember text.
