Fun Facts

I'm 23 and currently finishing my senior year as a education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education teacher. I am student teaching in Downtown Phoenix, and have fallen head over heels for the Downtown culture. I also work in the West Valley as a provider for Special Needs children. I enjoy both of my jobs and am excited to begin teaching. I like the arts, movies, theater, live concerts, storytelling, my cats, all animals, and being a life long learner

About Me

When I asked my students to describe me, this is what they said: " kind, caring, articulate, excellent teacher, creative, respectful, understanding, and courageous". I try to incorporate the arts and creative thinking in all that I do so I'm not afraid to think outside of the box.

My experience as a phoenix">tutor is rooted in my professional work as a provider and my student teaching/internships. I have been a provider in the West Valley for 6 years since I was 17. I have worked with children who have Autism, Aspergers, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cognitive Delay, MIMR, Cerebral Palsy, Deaf, Non-verbal, and other disabilities. I love this job and feel thankful to have learned as much as I have with my kiddos. My student teaching has been in Elementary School 1-5th, Middle School Mathematics, education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education inclusion and resource, and ACES alternative school. I prefer working 1 on 1 or in small groups to better understand my students needs and abilities.

My approach to phoenix">tutoring in centered on using strengths as better practice and weaknesses as platforms for improvements. I believe that all students can grow and become more wholesome with attention and nurturing of the mind. To be able to understand students this closely, respect and trust is needed. In my experience I've found that students have a hard time letting you teach them, if they can't trust that you care about them. Simply put, a teacher can teach better the more they know about their students.
