Fun Facts
My entire life revolves around music, books, and biology! I spent high school dabbling in everything-- cheerleading, opera, creative writing, model UN, theatre (and I even spent some time as a Shakespearian actor)! I am the seventh of eight children, and was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. I love swing dancing and having jam sessions with friends.
About Me
I am currently a freshman Biology major at the dallas">University of Dallas in Irving. I love biology, and know that I want to pursue a career in biology--but whether that means medicine, education, or research is yet to be determined!
Experience
As a dallas">tutor at the Metropolitan Public School Reading Clinic, I had the opportunity to teach reading skills to elementary and middle school children. I have also tutored AP English Reading and Comprehension, as well as AP English Literature. As a freshman in college, I dallas">tutor high school biology, and am able to dallas">tutor up to high school level chemistry as well. I have worked with children from ages 6 to 17, and love the opportunity to expand my horizons, as well as my students'!
Approach
All my life, I've found solace and joy in reading--in picking apart stories and finding connections between the details. Nothing is remembered half so thoroughly as a good story. Education ought to be the same way. To truly understand any subject, imagination is key; to do well in school, true and deep understanding of the subject matter is necessary. For that to work,learning must be enjoyable and exciting. I strive to not only teach my students, but to help them truly love learning.

Biology
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I have taken not only high school anatomy and physiology, but am enrolled in a college level physiology class. I am a biology major, and a member of the Pre-Health Society. In addition, I received a 4 on my AP Biology exam, which deepened my understanding of physical mechanisms.
AP English Tutoring
I took AP English Language and Composition and received a 5, as well as a 5 on AP English Literature, and have tutored other students in both subjects. I am able to teach not only a deeper understanding of literature, but also the necessary analytical and grammatical skills to do well on an AP English Exam. In addition to this, I received a 36 on the Reading section of the ACT, as well as a 36 on the English section.
Biology Tutoring
As a biology major, I have completed general biology, as well as classes such as Disease and Society and Physiology. I received a 4 on AP Biology when in high school, and work in the Biology Department at the University of Dallas. I would love to share my love of science with other biology students, and help any who are struggling to understand.

Chemistry Tutoring
As a freshman biology major, understanding of chemistry is integral in what I do on a daily basis. I have already completed General Chemistry I and am currently enrolled in General Chemistry II.

Religion Tutoring
In terms of religion, I have taken classes in Bible study, Christology, Apologetics, Morality, Social Justice, and on basic Catholic Catechetical teachings. I understand and am able to communicate both the Scripture and the Tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
Science Tutoring
As a biology major, I am well versed in all the aspects of science that a middle schooler would be exposed to. Because of my past experience--not only with tutoring middle schoolers, but with babysitting them--I am comfortable working with children of that age, and able to communicate well with them. I am also passionate about avoiding the stigma that associates science with difficulty, and would love to teach children to replace fear of the subject with excitement and wonder.
