Fun Facts
I love animals, surfing, learning new things, traveling, playing tennis, and ART! I was born New York City. I am the youngest of four. I have visited Moscow and Mexico and hope to fill up my passport.
About Me
I am finishing my Master's of Childhood Education at the College of Staten Island. I received my Bachelor's degree at Pratt Institute where I also studied four years of Architecture and received a minor in Art History.
Experience
I worked as a Preschool Teacher at Harbor Day Care Center in Nassau County. I was a bus matron were I learned child safety and child CPR. I also worked for the Dept. of Education's program Champion Learning. This was a one-on-one brooklyn">tutoring service helping students endanger of falling back in English Language Arts and Math.
Approach
My motto is to get the child happy and interested in learning so that they will surpass our expectations!
I like to get the parents' perspective, the teacher's perspective (through work), as well as the child's, in order to find the problem, formulate a plan of action, and work out the best solution for the student's sucess.
Writing Tutoring
Writing can be very daunting or scary for children, but it serves a purpose in our everyday lives. Besides being helpful (i.e. communication) it can be enjoyable and thought provoking. A student who finds it hard to write, simple needs to broaden their vocabulary and they an always find another way writing the story.
Study Skills Tutoring
Simply no distractions! They must bring a bottle of water so that they do not get up for water. Practice makes perfect. I want my students walking away with understanding, not memorizing.
Spanish Tutoring
Visuals work best as well as practice. I am self taught in Russian as well. It helped me to immerse myself in the language. I even wrote the alphabet on my wall, but don't worry parents I will advise against writing on the wall. However, sticker labeling is a very effect way to help.
P.S. I received a 99% on my Spanish Regents.

I love science It's all about discovery and making learning fun! Art goes great with explaining how science works. That's why I would be a great fit.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
