About Me

Education has always been a calling and a passion for me. By age four I learned how to read on my own. At that point, I asked my parents for a blackboard, eraser and chalk and started pulling the children from the neighborhood into my porch to teach them all sorts of things. When other children were too busy playing outside, my dolls will be there to keep me company as I taught. From an early age, I recognized the importance of education and ever since have been fascinated by the impact it has in one’s life.

As a professional, I possess a very strong literacy background; I am a combination of a global and a linear thinker. I am also bilingual, bicultural and biliterate. Academically my interests include: finding ways to close the achievement gap for all learners and creating a curriculum and strategies that are engaging and relevant to students.

Currently I am pursuing a Dual Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Instruction at dallas-baptist-university">Dallas Baptist University. My goal is to open a school in the near future, where I can use my expertise as an administrator but most importantly be an instructional servant leader!

As a dallas">tutor I believe in identifying the student's strengths. By utilizing strengths while addressing the areas that need attention, I am able to boost the student's motivation to learn and to enjoy tackling challenges. My focus is on the total learning process, rather than solely on deficits. I actively involve learners in the dallas">tutoring process by encouraging them to set attainable goals, and to work towards meeting them. Also, current assignments are addressed while students gain transferable skills. As a dallas">tutor for Frog Learning I am very excited to get to work with a variety of learners and also welcome the opportunity to serve as their mentor.
