Child Development Tutoring

I have taken a summer college course on Child Development. Many courses that I took for my major(Communicative Disorders) focused on child development, specifically speech and language development. I have a very good background on the timeline and average development of children.

Literature Tutoring

I was in AP English during high school, which heavily focused on literature. I also took two literature courses during college, in which we read classic novels and spent time on analysis and interpretation. Studying literature is one of my favorite topics.

Psychology Tutoring

I took a college course in Psychology and received high grades. Psychology is very interesting to me and I find its' topics and themes easy to describe and explain. Psychology was also an underlying theme in several other college course I took including Sociology and Child Development.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Aside from taking AP English and several literature classes, I have been a reading tutor at multiple sites throughout high school and college. I am comfortable with taking a passage and understanding/recalling the themes. Many tutoring sessions that I have had in the past include a section where I ask what the student remembers from the story.

Sociology Tutoring

I took a college course in Sociology and did very well in it. I enjoyed the subject and learned a lot from my course. Sociology is an interesting topic to learn more about and apply to daily situations.

Spanish I Tutoring

I am bilingual and was raised learning Spanish. I took AP Spanish in high school and passed the exam. I speak Spanish with clients on a weekly basis at the clinic I am currently working at.

My undergraduate degree was in Communicative Disorders. I took many courses including: Intro to Communicative Disorders, Language Acquisition and Development, Phonetics, Fluency and Voice Disorders, and Diagnosis of Communicative Disorders. I am currently in an Audiology program and continue to interact with the speech department.

Study Skills Tutoring

I have maintained an impressive grade average throughout my education. I always do well on exams, quizzes, and projects. I know how to manage my time, organize, and prioritize. I have multiple study methods in case one doesn't work for a particular subject.
