Fun Facts
I love experiencing things. I would describe myself as a polymath or a modern renaissance woman. I like languages and speak can speak 5 of them with different levels of fluency. I love reading and writing and drawing and painting. I like acting in theatre or film, though I haven't been in a show in a while. I would like to learn to fly planes and helicopters.
About Me
Recently graduated from Morningside College with a double Major in Physics and science/new-york/brooklyn">Computer Science. I also minored in theatre. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.69 GPA. Then I moved to New York City, I've lived here for about 6 months. Eventually I'm going to go to graduate school, but I'm taking my time to find a program I really like.
Experience
I tutored part time for my school's brooklyn">Tutoring center, in Physics I and II. Though I occasionally answered the odd math question. Because I am fluent in Spanish, I often helped my friends who where Spanish majors with their assignments.
Approach
I try to foster understanding in the student, not just tell them how to do things. Though I do teach neat tricks and alternate ways of doing things, mostly I want the student to understand enough that they can find or choose the way they prefer. Math, Physics and Science in general, tend to be fairly open method-wise.
With Spanish I try to explain things without providing direct translations in order to encourage students to think in Spanish.
