Fun Facts

My pride and joy is my two-year-old German Shepherd named Jack. He is very spoiled and will always be a little puppy to me! I love traveling, but my absolute favorite place to go is the beach. It doesn't matter what beach it is, I just love being outside by the water. My favorite TV channels would definitely have to be Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and Discovery Channel because my TV seems to always be on one of those channels.

About Me

I recently graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Middle School Science Education. In the fall, I will begin my teaching career as a 7th grade science teacher at Harwood Junior High in HEB ISD. I eventually hope to also attend graduate school and earn my Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Science.

This past spring, I finished my student teaching experience at Smithfield Middle School in Birdville ISD. During this time, I taught in an eighth grade science classroom which included GT, Pre-AP, and On-Level classes. This experience provided me with the ability to work not only with entire classes, but also one-on-one with students before and after school. I would help them with their homework and any questions they might have about what we did during the previous day's class.

Through my courses at TCU and my teaching experiences, I have found that if the material is presented in an interesting and engaging way, the students will be more likely to learn. My tutoring approach includes showing students the importance of learning the material and how the information can relate to real-life situations. I will also guide my students through the learning process by asking them important questions along the way that will help the student to come up with the answer on their own, without me having to tell them.
