Fun Facts

I'm from Queens, New York and I love the fast-paced city life I grew up around. In high school I ran track and often traveled with my team competing in meets across the northeast. In addition to education, I really have a passion for media and entertainment. In November 2014 I started my own music and celebrities blog, and it has since been viewed in over 30 countries and by over 10,000 people.

About Me

I am a graduating senior at Morehouse College, where I work for the school's newspaper, The Maroon Tiger as the Arts & Entertainment editor. I am also a member of Sigma Tau Delta International Honor Society and a previous member of the Talented Tenth mentoring program. After graduation I will be returning to New York to teach at Excellence Boys Elementary School in Brooklyn. I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life as a teacher!

Experience

My atlanta">tutoring career began in high school when I became a member of the National Honor Society where we were required to atlanta">tutor twice a week. I usually helped students with writing, editing, brainstorming, and in subjects like history and science, and sometimes even Spanish. In college I tutored elementary school students on Saturdays with the Frederick Douglass Tutorial Institute, and I also worked as a writing atlanta">tutor in the English Writing Skills Lab five days a week.

Approach

I really love kids and I feel like I am a complete natural with the younger generation and this definitely shines through in my atlanta">tutoring and instruction. I work with students and pick at their brains and thoughts until they come to their own answers and creative thoughts. I am a very relatable instructor who gets the lesson across while also allowing time for life lessons as well!

English Tutoring

I am an English major at Morehouse with a 3.4 GPA. I am also a member of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. I am very familiar with literature, writing skills, and reading comprehension.

History Tutoring

I've always enjoyed history as a runnerup to English. In high school I always excelled in my history classes and let's face it - history is mostly reading and memorizing. As an English major I have all the skills needed to tutor history as well.

Literature Tutoring

Literature is a strong area for me. I love to read and explore different stories by different authors. I like to dissect literature with students and make it interesting for them even when they think it can't be interesting at all.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Reading comprehension is a subject I would be great at tutoring. As stated before I really enjoy reading and getting others to see the joys of reading as well.

Spanish I Tutoring

In high school I excelled in Spanish, receiving a 96% on the New York State exam. In college I took two semesters of beginner Spanish where I tuned up my skills. I did not go much further with the language in college, but I retained a lot of the beginner skills.

Study Skills Tutoring

I have a lot of good techniques that I have learned throughout the years from my own studying and from recommendations from teachers and mentors. I have passed these skills along to other students I tutor and mentor as well.

Writing Tutoring

Out of all subjects, I am definitely the strongest in writing. I have always been a great writer. I have published two short stories, presented academic papers at conferences, and I currently operate my own music and celebrities blog. I am great at helping students through the brainstorming, drafting, and editing processes.

Writing Advance Tutoring

Writing is by far my strongest subject and I have had years experience of writing and editing and in many different mediums. I write for my blog, my school's newspaper, as well as for leisure.
