Fun Facts

Every year, I like to participate in a volunteer experience of some kind. For the past two years, I teamed up with a group of students at my university to go on service trips. Last year we stayed here in Chicago and spent a week at a historic community center called the Benton House and did repairs and worked with children in their after-school programs. About Me

My passion is education. I am an elementary school teacher who has experience working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

When I am chicago">tutoring, I like to relate the students' interests to the subjects I am teaching them. For instance, if a student likes a certain song, I can teach the student poetic literary devices by using that song as an example. Then I can apply the same concept to lessons the student is expected to learn in class. By using this method, I believe students will be able to approach unfamiliar concepts by making associations to things with which they feel comfortable.
