Fun Facts
I am a huge fan of music, and love to travel around the state of California to attend concerts. Although I do not personally play any sports, I absolutely love the sport of softball. One of my favorite leisure activities is to watch the game, either on television or in person. I also come from a very close-knit family, so I love spending time with them. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister that I love dearly. I also have 3 nieces and 2 nephews that keep me on my toes.
About Me
I graduated from Fresno State this past May with a B.S. in Business Administration-Accountancy. I am in the beginning stages of obtaining my CPA license. I hope to take the CPA exam in the near future. I'm ready to begin my accounting career, as I am currently seeking my first accounting job. I also plan to return to school to work on an MBA degree.
I have tutored several family members throughout the years. Currently, I fresno">tutor my aunt in her math classes as she works on earning her AA degree. I have also tutored my younger sister in the past in various levels of math. I also have experience working with younger children, as I often help my young nieces with their homework.
Throughout my schooling career, I have learned the importance of a great teacher. I have been fortunate to have had some amazing teachers that have pushed me to be the very best I could be. In fact, I'd say that my kindergarten teacher had the biggest impact on my academic success. As a young, shy child I was unsure about how I felt about school, but she showed me that school could be fun and I felt that she genuinely wanted me to succeed. I hope to give students the confidence they need to succeed in school by showing them that hard work does pay off. I will do my best to teach them valuable study and organizational skills. One of my favorite math teachers used to tell his students that there were two ways to approach a problem: the hard way and the easy way. He would say that he needed to show us the hard way so that we could understand the problem and then later appreciate the easy way. I plan to show students that there are different ways to approach a problem, and one method may work better than another. The most important thing is that the student understands what they are doing and builds the confidence to do the work on their own in the future.
