Fun Facts
I'm from Connecticut, but currently live in Philadelphia. I love all sports, but specifically Tennis, Basketball, and Golf! I can't dance very well, but I'm working on it. I've been to a few countries in Europe, my top three were definitely Switzerland, Italy, and Greece. In my spare time I like hanging with friends and spending time with my family. I have one older sister who is 26, and now that I'm 20, she finally stopped picking on me!
About Me
I am a first year Medical Student at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. I just graduated from The Pennsylvania State University (We Are!) in 2014 with a 3.63 in Premed. I am excited to become a Doctor one day although I'm still working on deciding on a specialty within medicine.
Experience
I spent my last summer philadelphia">tutoring two students, ages 8 and 14. I tutored both of them in Math, the 14 year old was studying algebra and the 8 year old was learning addition and subtraction. My freshman year of college, I tutored students in Chem 1 and Chem 2.
Approach
Every student learns differently, and that's OK! I personally learn best visually. What this means for me is that someone can shout how to answer a question all they want, but until I watch them write out the problem or create a diagram, I'm lost. The problem I have found with past mentors is their inflexibility with explanations; sometimes what is clear to a teacher won't make sense or "click" with the student. I will adjust to students needs and always provide alternate explanations.
