Fun Facts
Music, writing, and creativity have always been huge parts of my life. I play multiple musical instruments and have written and recorded over 6 albums. In addition to music and writing, I also love the outdoors; it is always great to take a break from the city and go hiking, camping, and boating on out on the lake! My biggest passion has to be teaching though, I am current working towards becoming an English teacher.
About Me
I am a senior English major at Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis in writing. I have been on the Dean's List multiple times and my GPA has never dipped below a 3.77. I hope to attend the University of San Francisco after I graduate to earn an MFA in Creative Writing. With that degree, I plan to teach English at a Jesuit high school.
I have had the opportunity of creating lesson plans for and teaching middle school History and Religion classes in East LA as part of an immersion trip. In college, I have taken time to work one-on-one with other college students, editing their papers and helping tutor them. My one-on-one tutoring experience over the last couple of years compliments Frog Tutoring's approach.
Throughout high school and college, I have had the pleasure of being taught by some really inspiring teachers. These educators helped me see the true importance of what I was learning and understand the real world applications of the knowledge I gained in the classroom. As a tutor, I wish to help students see the relevance of what they are learning in their classes and inspire them to want to do better and learn more. Every student is different and, in order to effectively tutor someone, it is important to know them on a more personal level and understand the way they process and produce information. In light of this, I make an effort to really get to know the students I am tutoring.
