Fun Facts
One of the things I enjoy doing most in my spare time is playing with my 8 year old Basset Hound, Molly, and my 5 year old Shiba Inu, Serenity. I am the youngest of six children. I have four nephews and three nieces!
About Me
I received my B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. From the University of Arizona in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, and science/arizona/tucson">Computer Science. I just moved to Minnesota and am looking to tutor as I work at the University of Minnesota!
Experience
In the past I have taught Introductory Biology Labs for Molecular and Cellular Biology. This required being the sole instructor for introductory students on topics like: genetics, cell cycle, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and experimental design. I also provided bi-weekly office hours to meet with students one-on-one to go over especially difficult topics.
Approach
Through my educational experiences I have always found it helpful to approach a topic with a broad scope; I like to understand the big conceptual picture of a process. Then, as I become more comfortable with the overall process I begin to add in the details piece by piece until my understanding is not only conceptual but also detail oriented.
