Fun Facts
I have lived and worked on four continents: North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. Of all the places I have been, my two favorite places are Barcelona and Stone Town in Zanzibar. I am also a dog lover and have great (and not so great!) memories of my family's weimaraner when I was a kid.
About Me
I was an undergraduate history major at Wake Forest Univ. but also took LOTS of Spanish (literature and grammar) and had a full scholarship to a Spanish university my junior year. I have an MBA from UCLA where I was an International Management Fellow on the Spanish-language track and did two years of PhD coursework at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.
Experience
I am a former GMAT and GRE instructor at Kaplan and am a full-time writer and editor in Spanish and English. I love working with people to improve their language, writing, and communication skills. I am particularly good at quickly identifying and addressing the "key issues" that are holding somebody back.
Approach
I put a lot of emphasis on making washington-dc">tutoring "us vs. the problem" instead of "me vs. you." I am on your side and will work diligently to understand exactly where you are, figure out how to get you where you want to be, and then support you on the journey. You will need to work hard --but I will make sure that that hard work will actually move you forward instead of leaving you feeling more frustrated and down. Let's get started!
