Fun Facts
My favorite food that I could eat at any time of day is ice cream! Whether it's gelato, frozen yogurt, or a regular tub of ice cream, all of them taste good to me. I enjoy running, playing tennis, and watching movies. I am an only child and have lived in Texas for most of my life. For the past two years, I lived in Taiwan and really enjoyed learning about a new culture and eating new yummy foods!
About Me
I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Biology. I received the National Merit Scholarship and my GPA was a 3.81. At the same time, I completed the UTeach program at UTD for science and received my teaching certification for Science 7-12. I have taught 9th grade honors, regulars, and regulars SPED inclusion Biology. Additionally, In my time in Taiwan, I taught kids ages pre-school through middle school ESL English and reading.
Experience
My first experience teaching kids was through Sunday school, in which I had the wonderful opportunity to teach students from pre-K to 5th grade for the past 5 years. I have also worked with Club Scientific as a summer camp counselor and after school teacher. In both of these settings, there have been a variance in the number of students ranging from a small group of 4 to a classroom of 20 students. I have also done one-on-one home plano">tutoring and worked with students taking remedial summer courses.
Approach
I aim to help students by being a determined plano">tutor, willing to explain and illustrate concepts for students in a creative manner. Through my experience teaching in classroom settings as well as more personal settings, I understand that each student has different skills and needs. My hope is to be a positive influence on a child's learning and development in subjects even beyond what I am plano">tutoring.

Biology
Algebra Tutoring
I am qualified to be an algebra tutor as I received A's in my pre-algebra, algebra 1, and algebra 2 classes in high school. I also got a score of 790 on the math section on the SAT, which includes many questions over algebra. I have tutored my peers on this subject throughout middle school and high school.
Biology Tutoring
I am qualified to be a Biology tutor as my major at UTD is Biology, and I have successfully completed 3 years of college with a major GPA of 3.81. In high school I also received an A in my AP Biology class and a 5 on the AP exam. In high school, I tutored peers in my grade level biology.

I am qualified to to be a math tutor because I have received A's in every math class I have taken from pre-algebra to calculus. I also got a score of 790 on the math section of the SAT. I have experience tutoring peers throughout middle and high school.

I am qualified to be a reading comprehension tutor because English is my first language. I have received A's in all of my English classes. I also got a score of 760 on the reading section of my SAT.
Science Tutoring
I am qualified to be a science tutor because my major in college is biology. I have taken a wide range of science classes throughout my high school and college schooling, including chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, organic chemistry, genetics, immunobiology, and nanomedicine. I have helped peers with these courses.
Writing Tutoring
I am qualified to be a writing tutor because I received an 800 on the writing section of the SAT. I have also taken advanced writing Research Methods class at UTD. I have also helped many peers edit essays for college applications and other courses.
English Tutoring
I am qualified to be an English tutor because I have received A's in all of my English classes. I also got a score of 760 on the reading section of my SAT. Additionally, I got a score of 800 on the writing section of my SAT and have helped peers edit essays.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I am qualified to to be a math tutor because I have received A's in every math class I have taken from pre-algebra to calculus. I also got a score of 790 on the math section of the SAT. I have experience tutoring peers throughout middle and high school.
Social Studies Tutoring
I have taken multiple history classes throughout middle and high school such as Texas History, World History AP, Human Geography AP, American History AP, and Government AP. I received many college credits for these classes through AP testing. In addition, I have helped peers study for the classes throughout my schooling.

I am qualified to be a high school Biology tutor, as I am a certified Science 7-12 teacher. I have 2 years of experience in Plano ISD as a high school Biology teacher. My major at UTD was also in Biology.
Chemistry Tutoring
I am qualified to be a high school Chemistry teacher, as I am a certified Science 7-12 teacher. I student taught high school honors and regulars chemistry for a semester through my UTeach program with Plano ISD. I also did well in my chemistry and organic chemistry classes at UTD.
