Fun Facts
Even though I am young, I consider myself more mature than adults. I am always aware of my responsibilities in every given situation, and how to reasonably perform or meet them. I am extremely realistic -- sometimes even to the point of being blunt. I would never overextend myself if I know I cannot realistically accomplish something. I know when to keep striving for success, and when to concede a situation that isn't salvageable. I always take the most reasonable approach when doing tasks.
About Me
I am an undergraduate at University of California, Davis. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering in hopes to work in the oil refining industry. I have a very strong mathematics and science background, especially in chemistry. I am doing exceptionally well academically, and will work hard to keep doing so. I have been on the Dean's Honor List every academic quarter, and am one of the winners of the Edward Frank Kraft Prize.
Experience
I have worked as a volunteer tutor for over three years. I have taught math, science, reading, writing, and comprehension. Most of my experience comes from my work in the Read, Write, Discover! program at Milpitas. In this program, I taught students from grades K to 8 reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I performed one-on-one tutoring as well as group tutoring. In other tutoring programs, I taught mathematics and science at grade levels up to 12.
Approach
As a tutor, I strive to provide the best possible learning environment to my students. I always teach with a calm, encouraging, and optimistic attitude in hopes to inspire my students. I feel that having a positive outlook really helps the students become more comfortable and relaxed. This way, they can stay focused on learning the material presented to them without worry, doubt, or anxiety. When I teach, I work towards shutting out all distractions and getting the students academically engaged.

AP Chemistry Tutoring
I received an A in this course and scored a 5 on the AP exam. This class is directly related to my major, and I am very knowledgeable in the concepts and material taught in this course, as I have taken it as well as several other college-level chemistry classes.
AP Statistics Tutoring
I have taken this course and received and A. I scored a 5 on the AP exam. I am very familiar with the concepts and material taught in this course, as I use them frequently in my academic life, especially in laboratory work.
Calculus Tutoring
I have taken several courses of Calculus, and have done well in all of them. I have taken courses up to Calculus 3, which is Vector Calculus.
Chemistry Tutoring
I have taken chemistry course up to the college-level, including Chemical Engineering and Chemistry major-related courses. Teaching chemistry is my specialty and my strongest subject.
Geometry Tutoring
I have taken math courses up to Calculus 3 (Vector Calculus). All of these courses have applications of geometry. The material in this course is very familiar to me.
Science Tutoring
As a science major, I have a great grasp of scientific knowledge. Although I specialize in chemistry, I am very familiar with other subjects, such as physics and biology. As a chemical engineer, I use these subjects in essentially all of my classes.

As an engineer, I have taken many rigorous math courses. I can teach up to Vector Calculus, which combines concepts from Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and can easily teach them.

As an engineer, I have taken many rigorous math courses. I can teach up to Vector Calculus, which combines concepts from Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and can easily teach them.

Biology is a required course for my major. I can easily teach biology at a high-school or middle-school level. I have taken up to college-level biology, and have completed AP Biology with an A.
Middle School Math Tutoring
As an engineer, I have taken many rigorous math courses. I can teach up to Vector Calculus, which combines concepts from Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and can easily teach them. Middle School math usually consists of Algebra and Geometry, so I will not have any issues with teaching these subjects.
Writing Tutoring
Writing is not directly related to my major, but I have written many reports, papers, and analysis in my lab work. All of these are written at a college-level. For a middle school level, teaching writing will not be a problem at all. I am very familiar with writing concepts at all levels up to grade 12.
English Tutoring
I have taught English at an elementary school level for over two years. Not only am I experienced with teaching younger students, but I am also very good at explaining concepts to them in a way that makes sense. I can easily simplify material and find ways to make it more lucid to children. Handling younger students will not be an issue at all.
Homework Coach Tutoring
As someone who consistently attains high academic standings, I know how to study efficiently and effectively. I know many study habits and strategies that are great for learning new material. As an engineer, I am well-versed in many different academic subjects. Assisting in homework, whether it be by giving out tips and hints or by directly working with the student to solve questions, I will be a great asset to have.
Elementary Math Tutoring
As someone who has taught elementary students, I know how to make tough math concepts easy for them to understand. I often break down the material into comprehensible pieces of knowledge that build up towards the general idea. I know how to utilize examples that are relevant to young students. I provide an easygoing and relaxed environment in order to facilitate progress.
