About Me
I was born in a small town in Iowa and moved to ardmore">Ardmore, Oklahoma for my high school years. I worked hard to give my best effort in both my classes at school and at my dance studio. I made all A's from elementary to high school and graduated as salutatorian of my senior class. I then went on to major in journalism and minor in anthropology at TCU and plan on pursuing a career in travel writing when I graduate in 2014.
My tutoring experience started in high school helping a middle school girl with math and science. I continued building that experience mentoring at Fortress Youth Development Center in Fort Worth. I spent time with my mentee once a week working on homework and bonding through creative activities.
When working with my mentee, I found it was important to meet her where she was at. Every child is unique in the way they understand problems and comprehend information. I believe the best way to help a child with their academic struggles is to really get to know them and find ways to relate their interests to what they are studying.
