My passion for education was ignited through my work and experience in summer camps in Colorado and New Mexico. But my passion for math has always existed. I love teaching math because, more than anything, I see math as the method for understanding the world around us.

About Me

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I completed my BS in Math and BA in History in 2008 from the University of New Mexico. I finished my masters in Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico in 2011 and in 2012 I moved to Denver, Colorado. I am currently studying to obtain my principal's license in the state of Colorado.

Experience

I have taught for 7 years, everything between 8th grade math and calculus. I have also tutored many people individually and in all cases I consistently have high growth with students.

Approach

I love teaching math because, more than anything, I see math as the method for understanding the world around us. My degree in mathematics has given me the ability to teach students of different levels flexibly. I provide students with conceptual as well as procedural fluency and help to build a bridge between the two by guiding students to understand the connections.
