Fun Facts
I was born and raised in Rome, Italy but I started chasing the "American Dream" at the age of 15. I began to travel to learn English through a study abroad in high school first and another study abroad at California State University Long Beach later, where I landed a scholarship. While in California, I discovered my passion for surfing. I absolutely love the ocean, scuba diving and pretty much anything that has to do with water. I also dance salsa and enjoy writing poetry.
About Me
I am graduating this July from kennesaw-state-university">Kennesaw State University with a 3.9 GPA and a degree in Communications with an emphasis in journalism. In college, I had the opportunity to teach an American government class as a supplemental instructor and I had such a wonderful experience that I decided to pursue a teaching career. I also had an internship in investigative reporting at WSB-TV. My ultimate goal is to get a P.h.D. to teach Italian at a university and become director of a study abroad program.
Experience
I started atlanta">tutoring English when I was back in Italy in 2012. I tutored students of all ages who wanted to learn the language in a fun and practical way. When I moved to the U.S., I did not have the time to formally atlanta">tutor but because I wanted to teach Italian, I offered my help to anyone who wanted to learn my language. I also volunteered to be an interpreter during a mission trip at a children camp in Sicily in the summer of 2014.
Approach
Having gone through the process of learning English by being immersed in the culture myself, I understand all the challenges that come with learning a new language. I shape my lesson plans on the needs and levels of the students. I use interactive activities to make learning fun. One thing I really stress and want to teach my students is how to continue to practice and learn the language on their own once they stop getting atlanta">tutoring. Learning how to learn is essential for any subject and in life!

Italian Tutoring
I taught American government at the college level and what I loved the most about that position was the relationships that I was able to build with the students. As a student myself, I did not act as a professor but as an humble human being who loved to teach and to learn from her students as well. Teaching Italian would allow me to integrate my tutoring skills with my knowledge and passion of the language and culture.
