Fun Facts
Other than mathematics my other passion is tennis. While graduate school keeps me busy, I try to make time to play a couple of games with other graduate students.
About Me
I am about to start my second year at the University of Kentucky as a graduate student in Mathematics. I received a BA in Mathematics from Metropolitan State denver">University of Denver. I have also given presentations at two national conferences on my research in mathematics. My goal is to become a professor at the collegiate level.
Experience
I have been denver">tutoring in mathematics since my junior year of high school. During my time as a graduate student i have served as a a teaching assistant for Calculus I and Calculus II and also have continued to denver">tutor within the denver">tutoring lap.
Approach
Learning mathematics can be a very stressful time for students. As a denver">tutor, I have found that the first step in alleviating some of this stress is by first walking a student through a series of examples and then having them walk me through a few similar problems. After I feel confident that they are fully grasping the concepts then we will start to work through problems that may not be the most straight forward. I have found by doing this, students are able to critically think about problems.
