Fun Facts
I live, eat and breathe soccer. I am 21 years old and for the past 18 years soccer has consumed my life. It is my first true love and will continue to be for the rest of my life. I have never felt a passion greater than the passion I have for this sport. Luckily, I was able to make my childhood dream become a reality and received a scholarship to play at Molloy College. I am now captain of the Molloy Women's soccer team and have one more year left to play.
About Me
I am a senior at Molloy College majoring in Elementary/education/new-york/long-island">Special Education 1-6 with a concentration in Mathematics. I have been on the Dean's list as well as East Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the past three years. When I graduate I hope to continue my studies at Molloy College to receive my Masters in Education and TESOL. I am currently a soccer trainer and will pursue to become a coach at the district I begin my teaching career.
Experience
As a member of the Peer Leadership program in High school, I met one on one with students with special needs every week to assist in academic help as well as, helping build a foundation for the use of life skills. I have also had the opportunity to tutor 3 children and assist them in completing their homework two times a week. I love working one on one with students because it allows me to get to know that student as a person and build upon their strengths and weaknesses.
Approach
At a very young age, I always knew that my purpose in life was to make a difference and impact the lives of others. Seeing the impact my third grade teacher had on myself and my classmates made me realize that I could help people every single day for a living! Through her poise, compassion, understanding, empathetic, fun and energetic ways she made a mark on me that will forever become the building blocks to my approach on teaching.

Homework Coach Tutoring
I was hired to assist in homework help for three elementary aged children for over two years. I demonstrated problem solving skills in all areas and challenged them to discover answers for themselves, following my examples.
Writing Tutoring
I have completed four years of English courses in high school, including AP courses. I have taken courses in AP English, College Comp, Children's Literature and Academic Research. I was also a part of the writing club during high school. I have assisted in the breakdown of reading passages, challenged children on the meaning of passages and helped in the production of the writing processes built off of reading comprehension.

I have taken 7 years of italian courses since grade 6. I have taken a college level course. I traveled to Italy with my high school after completing the requirements to attend. This experience allowed me to expand my studies even further and force me to use the language in its own culture. I have also studied abroad in Spain for a month with Molloy College and took two Spanish classes during my stay.

I have taken courses in Earth science, Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science and Organic Bio Chemistry. Science is an area of study that is essential for children to become competent in as it teaches us about the world we live in and why provides the answer to the big, "why".
Study Skills Tutoring
I have taken education courses in Foundations, Strategies and instructional Technology. These three courses help the modern student learn and implement new ways to study based off of research done to distinguish the different types of learners we now categorize students as. This allows me to identify the type of learner the student is and actually provide them with applications that will specifically fit their needs.
Math Tutoring
The math courses I have taken include, Elementary Statistics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2/ Trigonometry, Geometry, Modern Geometry, Using A Graphic Calculator, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Math Methods and Research, Discreet Math, and Elementary Mathematics. Along with the numerous math courses I was required to take, I also had to take a course on how to actually teach the mathematical content to elementary students, which included strategies to teach the diverse population, numerous approaches to solving problems and new ways to implement and help students reach the common core standards.
