Fun Facts
I recently returned from Rome, where I studied abroad for four months. In my free time you will find me reading or watching Netflix. I am also considering joining a kickball league, but we'll see how that goes as my coordination is not the best.
About Me
I am a senior double major in history and media studies at Catholic University, where I also work in the university's writing center. I have been on the Dean's List every semester, most semesters making the list with distinction, as my grades placed me in the top ten percent of my class.
Experience
As an employee at Catholic University's writing center, I have worked with students ranging from college freshmen to doctoral candidates through all stages of the writing process. I have also worked with high school students on their college essays, in addition to helping my younger siblings and their friends on the middle school level. At Catholic, I also serve as a peer academic coach, where I work with students on developing their study skills and acclimating them to the academic environment.
Approach
As a child, I was told I struggled with reading-comprehension/virginia/washington-dc">reading comprehension. However, I later learned I just did not enjoy the books my teacher had me reading. I soon developed a passion for reading and writing that only continued to grow as used my skills in high school history courses. I believe in having student driven sessions. Not only is it important to take time to listen to the student, but I believe the student should have an active roll in shaping sessions so as to maximize involvement the meetings.

History Tutoring
I am a senior history major at Catholic University. I am a member of the history honor society and even joined a year early. I have also been president of the history club for two years. I have also received special permission to write a seventy page history paper this summer and next semester.
Writing Tutoring
I was chosen as one of only six new undergraduate peer tutors for CUA's writing center. I received a semesters worth of training where I worked on perfecting my tutoring method and fine tuning my grammar. I have experience working with freshmen to doctoral students, including ESL students.

AP History Tutoring
I received 5's on the AP US and European History exams and tutored throughout high school.
Study Skills Tutoring
I serve as an academic coach at Catholic University where I work with students on their study skills. I also regularly attend workshops to learn new ways help students.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I have experience working as an academic coach for college students, where I coach students in time management, study skills, organization, and whatever else the student needs to succeed. I also have experience volunteering in an elementary after school program where I assisted younger students with their homework needs.
Religion Tutoring
I have been enrolled in religious schools since the age of three. I am currently attending the Catholic University of America, where I have completed intensive coursework on Christian faiths and other world religions. Additionally, I recently spent four months in Rome studying ecclesiology and the liturgy in the Catholic Church.
