Fun Facts

One thing people are quick to learn about me is my love for sports. I love playing a multitude of sports from tennis to soccer to basketball. I am also an avid runner! I ran cross country in high school and have done my fair share of 5ks and 10ks. I plan to run a half marathon within the coming year. I am also really fascinated with technology. I love reading about the new ways people have developed to do old tasks and all of the high tech technology that has been consuming our everyday world.

About Me

I am a junior Neurobiology major at The University of Texas at Austin. My GPA is 3.85 and I have been recognized as a College Scholar. I plan to study medicine at UT southwestern after I graduate. My ultimate goal is to either be a cardiologist or a neurologist! I also enjoy doing research! I have done about 4 semesters worth of research in both an antibiotics lab and a neuroscience lab.

Experience

I have grown up with three younger brothers so I have been austin">tutoring them for quite some time. I have taught and reinforced their learning in everything from biology to chemistry to algebra. In college now, I often lead study groups in classes I am taking and direct the group to pertinent topics and key objectives that should be met for exams. I am currently an online austin">tutor at InstaEdu and will be starting as an official austin">tutor at the Sanger Learning Center at UT Austin in the Fall.

Approach

When I was growing up, my teachers used to always reiterate that foundations were the key to all knowledge in the world. That is, everything no matter how complex it is can be related back to key foundational concepts in that respective subject. I find myself using this key piece of advice whenever I austin">tutor students. I not only teach them the problem at hand, but I also take them into the deeper meaning and relate it back to the foundation so that they ma build upon it in the future.
