Fun Facts

I am a father of five small children. It is the best part of my life. I love to sing, write songs (for my family), and play the piano. I love to run.

About Me

I just graduated from the University of Arizona with a PhD in mathematics. In the fall I will begin as an assistant professor at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.

For the past eight years, I have taught classes at the University and College level. For the past few summers I have worked as an adjunct faculty member at Pima Community College. I have also tutored students individually on and off over the past several years.

My student should always know that I believe in him or her and the ability he or she has. First, I listen to my student and ask questions to gauge his or her readiness in the current material. Then, we walk through the material carefully by first offering problems and examples for me to illustrate, then for my student and me to work through together, and then for my student to do independently. When my student is stuck or thinking incorrectly, I try to gently guide my student so that he or she can be the one to to discover the issue. It is so important for my student to feel that he or she can succeed and solve problems independently.
