Fun Facts
Enjoy the outdoors, cooking, and SCUBA diving (my most recent dive was in Curacao). I will try any new outdoor activity except skydiving; no thanks! I have traveled to 29 countries which included spending summers volunteering in rural Honduras, working in hospitals in Mexico, and helping at leprosy clinics in India. I went to college in Austin, TX so I am an expert when it comes to BBQ food (I only approve of a few restaurants in Phoenix!)

About Me
I went to the University of Texas and earned a Bachelor in Microbiology. I did 3 years of research and developed a DNA test for Texas' newborn screening. In medical school I worked at the CDC. As a doctor, I will train in Cardiology or Infectious Disease.
As for phoenix">tutoring, I use a multiple selection of styles in order to find the right fit for the student. I personally have used many techniques. I provide my students with a list of online resources and other teaching tools in addition to me.
Experience
I tutored many students in college in areas of science: biology (all areas), chemistry (general, organic and biochemistry), physics, and math. Even though my phoenix">tutoring sessions were informal, my students were happy with my wide range of resources and my efforts to make sure they were improving in the subject matter.
I document everything with my students in order to have a solid tracking system of their progress. I encourage feedback and their suggestions with the sessions' structure.
Approach
I do not use one format for all students because everyone learns differently. During our initial sessions, I experiment with several styles and techniques and observe which ones the student is responding to. Styles include, visual aids, the use of tables and graphs, flashcards, practice questions, change of writing study notes, evaluating the student's current study habits, homework, etc. Of course I am always open to input and suggestions from the student.
