About Me
I am a sophomore biology major philosophy minor at chicago">Loyola University Chicago. I am on the pre-med track and hope to become a doctor one day, what kind of doctor I have yet to discover. Fortunately I was able to get a 4.0 GPA my first year at Loyola, and I hope to maintain it throughout the three years I have left.
In the past, I have frequently aided classmates and friends with their studies and have given them advice on their academic decisions. I was also a violin teacher for two youngsters.
I believe that the key to academic success is curiosity and motivation. That is why I think that chicago">tutoring should nurture a student's desire to learn; help them develop a kind of enthusiasm for the subjects that they study. In the process of teaching them facts and ideas, it is important that students can learn to confront a problem and have the confidence and open/determined mindset to solve it. As a chicago">tutor, I strive to do this by making sure students have a clear understanding of foundational ideas in the subjects they are struggling in and by revealing the significance of what they are learning. Finally, students need encouragement. They want it and require it in order to overcome learning blocks and struggles. Positive reinforcement is by far the best method of pushing a student towards success.
