Fun Facts

Something fun that I love to do is go skydiving in a new location every year. I haven't been able to go skydive international yet, but it's on my list. I also enjoy playing tennis when I have a little bit of time. When I'm not jumping out of airplanes or with my racket, I'm hopefully traveling somewhere and eating good food. I live to eat and will try any type of food out there.

About Me

I am a high school math teacher in Memphis, TN teaching 9th grade Algebra I. I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with Finance degree and call Atlanta, GA my second home after Memphis. The ultimate goal is to manage people's money with an investment firm.

Experience

I've tutored all throughout college and high school. I tutored low income students while I was in high school and tutored student athletes while I was in college. I love working with students and enabling them for success in the future.

Approach

My approach is very simple. I teach concepts not formulas. If students understand fundamentals, they will always understand the derivation of the formula and can come up with it themselves. Giving students those skills are so critical for problem solving capabilities down the road in their lives.

Calculus I Tutoring

I took calculus in college and high school and would have no trouble tutoring this subject area for anyone. Having gone to a STEM college for 4 years, my math fundamentals are very strong.

College Algebra Tutoring

I went to a STEM college in which math was a focus in almost all of my classes for all 4 years. I took the AP Calculus AB exam when I was in high school. I am also currently teaching Algebra I to high school students and many of those same concepts carry over to College Algebra.

Finance Tutoring

I majored in Finance when I went to Georgia Tech. My fundamentals in this subject are very strong and I would have no trouble explaining those concepts to anyone I was tutoring.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

I am a high school math teacher. To be certified as a high school math teacher in Tennessee, you have to have content knowledge all the way up to Calculus which would cover Pre Calculus and much more.

Study Skills Tutoring

I am a high school math teacher and have training and a skill set personally to get students on a path to enhance or start study skills.

Trigonometry Tutoring

Being certified in Tennessee as a high school math teacher, I have been tested on Trigonometry knowledge.
